GirlVentures 2024 Gala will celebrate the empowerment of expansive youth in our community!  We have a very mission appropriate silent auction (think campouts, kayaking, sailing, picnics, and even a YETI), fantastic music, delicious cuisine, and a few surprises, as we celebrate the trailblazers that get us to our place of leadership in our communities!


GirlVentures inspires girls to lead through outdoor adventure, inner discovery, and collective action.

The only nonprofit of its kind, GirlVentures combines outdoor adventure with social emotional learning for adolescent girls, at a critical time in their lives.  Starting at age 11, our youth follow the GirlVentures’ Leadership Progression Model, building confidence, leadership and life skills as they backpack, hike, kayak and rock climb in the Northern California wilderness. They learn from experiential educators and mentors while gaining knowledge and tools that empower them to reach their full potential.
 

My name is Lingling Chen, and I currently serve as Board President at GirlVentures. This is also my 5th year serving on the board. 

I was drawn to the organization because of it is mission - Inspiring girls and gender-expansive youth to lead through outdoor adventure, inner discovery, and collective action.

At GirlVentures, we believe in the power of nature to nurture leadership, confidence, and resilience in young girls. Through backpacking, hiking, kayaking, and rock climbing in the breathtaking wilderness of Northern California, our participants embark on a journey of self-discovery guided by experienced educators and mentors. 

Our program graduates emerge with the ability to thrive in challenging times, maintain clarity and calmness during personal and societal chaos, and communicate warmth and understanding to individuals who may feel disenfranchised or misunderstood. These are the leaders our communities, workplaces, and families need. 

Your support and donation will help us sustain our programs, and continue to provide scholarships to the girls who wouldn't have access to outdoor programs.
